SNOWMOBILE RACES NEAR; MORE INFO RELEASED

(Hartford, OH)…One of the region’s most anticipated winter motorsports event is now just days away! The inaugural “Circle Track Showdown Snowmobile Races will be held this Saturday, January 22 at one of the nation’s finest short track facilities- Sharon Speedway. Race time is set for 11 a.m.

“The response continues to be overwhelming, stated second year GM Dave Willoughby. “We’ve been getting calls and questions about the event on a daily basis from all over the region and beyond. I know I’m looking forward to it and so are so many others. And not just competitors, but fans that have never seen a circle track snowmobile race. It’s going to be a fun day and the best thing it’s very affordable as five bucks gets access to the entire facility.

The competing classes will include the 400cc and under stock, 401-500cc stock, 501-600cc stock, 601-700cc stock, 701-800cc stock, 801+cc stock and mods, and the vintage class. The three competing age groups per class will include 12-14 year olds, 15-17 year olds, and 18 and older. Any sleds with engine modifications will be grouped with the 801+cc class. This class may be split further on race day depending on the participation level. The same holds with the vintage class.

Helmets are required, while suits, gloves, chest protectors & tethers are highly recommended. Each class will run heats, last chance races (if necessary) and a feature. Drivers will be permitted a few warm-up laps. There will be no cash prizes for this inaugural event as winners will receive trophies only. Hay bales will be setup around the 3/8-mile track.

There will be a $20 registration fee per class. Registration forms are available on the website at www.sharonspeedway.com. Pre-registration is highly recommended to save time on race day. Drivers will be assigned car numbers on a first come, first serve basis.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. with racing at 11 a.m. Adult all access facility admission will be just $5! Children 12 and under are free! All spectators and competitors will be required to sign a release, which will grant everyone access to the pit area. The no snow make-up date will be Saturday, January 29.
