(Hartford, OH)…It was only fitting that the snowiest winter on record would add a few more inches of snow Wednesday night, and coupled with the already wet grounds have postponed the “Friday Night Thunder kickoff scheduled for this Friday night, April 1 to next Friday, April 8 at Sharon Speedway. As of Thursday night, Saturday’s Open Stock Car Shootout with the STAR’s Mod Lite Series and the Presidential Lawn Care Mini Stocks was still on schedule.
As was previously announced, anytime a “Friday Night Thunder show is cancelled, the following Friday night will be used. Still 13 shows are on track for the Ti22 Performance Outlaw Sprint Warriors, Summit Racing Equipment Econo Mods, Unitech Frame Straightening & Joe’s Radiator Mod Lites, Micro Sprints, Joe’s Radiator & Unitech Frame Straightening Sportsman Dwarf Cars, and the newly added Mini Late Models. Racing will begin next Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
If Saturday’s event is able to be held, pits will open at 4 p.m. with the grandstands at 5, hot laps at 6:40, and qualifying for Stock Cars at 7 followed by racing. Adult admission is just $7, while students 9-13 are $5, and children eight and under are free. Pit passes are $25. The rain date is Sunday with racing at 5:30 p.m.
