(Hartford, OH)…After showers broke up for much of Saturday morning and early afternoon, rain finally arrived at Sharon Speedway at 2 PM and with rain in the forecast throughout the night, the decision was made to cancel the “Steel Valley Thunderâ€? program.Â
Sharon will now turn its attention to next Saturday (April 21) and the season’s only appearance by the Super Late Models as they will run under the ULMS banner for a big $3,000 payday. The annual spring Open Stock Car Shootout will also see those racers battling for a $1,500 pot. The HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks will also be in competition. Gates open at 5 with racing at 7. More info on this event will be released this week.
Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
