$1,000 bonus & 4 World Finals pit passes await DIRTcar Big-Block Mod top point getter at Lernerville-Sharon Aug 3-4 weekend
(Hartford, OH)…With Sharon Speedway joining Lernerville Speedway as western Pennsylvania DIRTcar-member speedways, one of the bonus programs for Big-Block Modified racers is fast approaching. The two speedways will hook up on August 3-4 for a doubleheader of ground-pounding action with $1,000 cash and four pit passes to the World Finals for the top point getter!
Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. hosts the Friday night program, while Hartford, Ohio’s Sharon Speedway will allow Big-Block Modified racers three opportunities to gather points. Not only will racers be competing for the $1,000 weekend crowd and weekly Sharon points, but in addition the event will also be one drivers’ 10 best finishes toward the $1,000 “Drive to be a Champion In Memory of Lou Blaney!
The Sharon Speedway point system will be utilized for both events. Also various contingencies will be awarded to random finishes at Sharon.
The DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds will be one of the three divisions competing at the Lowes Foods World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte November 1-3. The four complimentary pit passes are valued at a minimum of $276.
“This is a nice bonus for area Big-Block Modified teams, stated third-year General Manager Dave Willoughby. “The car counts have rebounded after a slow start and it was great see 28 cars for the Lou Blaney Memorial. With the dwindling number of Big-Block Modified races and drivers in recent years, we felt it was important to unify the division and this is one of the bonuses for our racers. A clean sweep of these three championships would be worth well over $3,000 in cash plus contingencies.
The Governor Insurance Agency DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds will be off on July 14, but will return on July 21 and July 28 in events leading up to the August opening weekend with Lernerville.
