(Hartford, OH)…With the snow melt-off fully underway at Sharon Speedway and above normal temperatures predicted through the weekend including temps in the low 60s on Saturday, the January 12 “Circle Track Showdown Snowmobile Races presented by JohnnyK’s Powersports have been cancelled. The earlier posted make-up date of January 19 has also been cancelled.
The previously scheduled “Circle Track Showdown Snowmobile Races for Saturday, January 26 is still on the schedule with racing at 11 a.m. All access admission is just $5. Those that pre-entered for January 12’s event will have a credit for January 26 or can be refunded by contacting the office.
“It’s a shame we won’t be able to hold the snowmobile races Saturday, said general manager Dave Willoughby. “We had a good snowpack and things were looking perfect until this week’s above freezing temperatures. Saturday’s weather looks conducive to a nice a spring day that we’ll be hoping for a few months. Due to some conflicts including an event in Coudersport, PA we cancelled the January 19 make-up date and looking at the extended forecast, we probably wouldn’t have been able to get it in anyways.
Following the “Circle Track Showdown on January 26, the annual awards banquet and dinner will be held at Yankee Lake Ballroom on Saturday, February 2. The first auto racing event will take place on Saturday, March 23 with the “Springduro 150 Enduro paying $1,000 to-win along with an open practice for all divisions.
