(Hartford, OH)…Sharon Speedway was forced to cancel racing action scheduled for Saturday night (April 13) due to wet grounds and inclement weather that forced cancellations all throughout the Buckeye State on both Friday & Saturday. The cancellation marked the sixth in seven events scheduled thus far including three tries at snowmobile races and two for the enduro/open practice.Â
“The grounds are just saturated, stated general manager Dave Willoughby. “The rain this week was too just much to overcome without any sunshine this afternoon, and tomorrow’s weather just isn’t going to help dry things out on top of a chance of rain throughout the day and night. Hopefully things will improve next Saturday.
Next Saturday (April 20) will be the first special event of the season as the NDRL’s United Late Model Series (ULMS) comes to town for their first of four appearances by the Super’s for $3,000 to-win. The NDRL’s United E-Mod Series (UEMS) will race for $1,000 to-win and will be joined by the HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods for $350 to-win and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks for $200 to-win. Racing will begin at 7 p.m.
Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
