(Hartford, OH)…Rain missed Sharon Speedway for the afternoon hours on Tuesday as it has for most of the year, but severe thunderstorms finally filled and a strong band came through just 5:30 p.m. that forced officials to cancel the Ohio Speedweek event that was to include the All Star Sprint Cars, Econo Mods, and Mini Stocks. It was the first cancellation since April 13 after 12 straight events were completed.
Refunds were issued. Those that left can send their passes in for a full refund to PO Box 159, Hartford, Ohio 44424 or use their passes on the August 20 “Lou Blaney Memorial and receive $2 back in “Speedway Bucks.
Sharon Speedway will be back in action this Saturday, June 29 for “Steel Valley Thunder featuring the Governor Insurance Agency DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Barris Supply RUSH Late Models, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks.
Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
