Sharon suffers 3rd straight rain out on Saturday, July 6
July 6, 2013
(Hartford, OH)...Like clockwork, after sunshine and dry weather graced Sharon Speedway all day long Saturday, a heavy thunderstorm moved in shortly after 6 PM washing out the “Off with the Tops program on Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Night. The cancellation marked the third straight succumbed to Mother Nature after completing 12 straight events.
The event was to feature the BOSS non-wing Sprint Cars and the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series along with the Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars and Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks.
Stay tuned for a possible make-up date for the Sweeney Night for the Sweeney RUSH Late Model Touring Series. The next scheduled BOSS Sprint and Sweeney RUSH Tour combo will be on Saturday, August 17.
There will be no racing at Sharon on Saturday, July 13 due to the Trumbull County Fair. Racing returns on Saturday, July 20 with the ULMS Super Late Models, UEMS Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Stock Cars, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks.
Those holding rain checks can use their passes at the next special race event or at a regular event and receive a refund on the difference.
