(Hartford, OH)…For the second straight year, Mother Nature has intervened on the Ohio Speedweek event for the All Star Sprint Cars at Sharon Speedway. Last year, heavy thunderstorms hit the speedway before warm-ups, this year heavy rains on Monday night coupled with a forecast of continuing storms throughout the afternoon and evening on Tuesday have prompted speedway officials to make the early decision. The event was to also include the second appearance by the TUSA Mod Lites.
Those that purchased advanced tickets can either use them for the July 30 “Lou Blaney Memorial featuring the “410 Sprint Cars for $5,000 to-win plus the BRP Big-Block Modified Tour or send them in for a full refund.
Racing will continue on Saturday night (June 28) at Sharon with another “Steel Valley Thunder program featuring the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks plus the third appearance by the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Sportsman Modifieds. The Barris Supply RUSH Late Models will have the night off then return on July 5 for the Sweeney Tour "Bill Emig Memorial". Pits open at 4 p.m. with grandstands at 5 and racing at 7. Admission for those 14 and over is $13. Pit passes are $30. As always, children under 13, parking, and camping is always FREE!
