Rain wins for the 3rd straight Saturday at Sharon

(Hartford, OH)…After completing seven straight Saturday night events, Sharon Speedway was off on July 12 due to the Trumbull County Fair and now suffered its third straight Saturday night "Steel Valley Thunder" rain out. Storms developed mid-afternoon and with more expected throughout the afternoon and evening the decision was made to cancel the event.
Next Saturday (August 9) will be the "Johnny Zdelar Memorial" featuring a $3,000 to-win event for the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds. Also scheduled to compete are the Barris Supply RUSH Late Models, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks. ALL COMPETING DRIVERS WILL BE ADMITTED FREE INTO THE PIT AREA! Race time is 7 p.m.
Then on Saturday, August 16 will be another “Fan Appreciation Night� as grandstand admission will be just $5 for all people 14 and over! It’ll be another “Steel Valley Thunder� program.
Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
