(Hartford, OH)…With the 86th anniversary season opener now in sight on Saturday, April 25, Sharon Speedway is announcing new programs and policies for the 2015 season. Fans will now be able to experience the “Steel Valley Thunder weekly racing program for just $10 throughout the season, while racers will no longer be required to pay the annual registration fee.
Sharon Speedway has finally acquired a permit to sell alcohol. Alcohol proceeds as well as the 50/50 raffle benefit proceeds will now go to a selected and announced charity or non-profit organization on a weekly basis. Many of these charities and organizations have already been scheduled with the first being the American Cancer Society this Saturday night. And in an effort to continue to host affordable racing and concession prices and as is the case at many racing facilities and other venues, carry-in coolers will no longer be permitted at Sharon.
The April 25 opener will be contested on an all-new racing surface as 111 tri-axle loads of clay were brought in over the offseason. The opening program will include the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks. Pits open at 4 p.m. with the grandstands at 5. Group qualifying will get underway at 7 p.m. Kids 13 and under are still free as well as parking for all events. Pit passes are $30.
