(Hartford, OH)…After sunshine and a clear radar throughout the morning and afternoon hours, thunderstorms popped up early evening on Saturday hitting Sharon Speedway. After waiting out a couple of the storms, the track received too much rain and with more on the radar, the decision was made to cancel the Mother's Day Celebration, which also included the first appearance of the RUSH Late Models. Rain checks are good for the remainder of the season. The next scheduled appearance for the RUSH Late Models is on Saturday, June 13.
Coming up this Saturday night, May 16 is a full show of the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Weller Hughes General Contracting & Developing RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks. It'll also be the first kids power wheel races.
Pits open at 4 p.m. with grandstands at 5, and group qualifying at 7. Grandstand admission for those 14 and over is just $10, while kids 13 and under are free. Pit passes are $30. There is no registration fee for the racers. Parking is always free. Reminder that coolers are not permitted to be brought into the grandstands.
Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
