Sharon forced to cancel for 2nd straight Saturday on May 16

(Hartford, OH)…Sharon Speedway officials waited until mid-afternoon on Saturday hoping for a shot to run the May 16 program, but with rain looming to the west and the forecast for wet weather over the next several hours the decision was made the cancel the event. It marked the second straight rain out after a successful opener on April 25. The scheduled power wheels races for the kids has been rescheduled to June 27.
Coming up Saturday night, May 23 is a full show of the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Weller Hughes General Contracting & Developing RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks plus an appearance by the TUSA Mod Lites racing for $1,200 to-win.
Pits open at 4 p.m. with grandstands at 5, and group qualifying at 7. Grandstand admission for those 14 and over is just $10, while kids 13 and under are free. Pit passes are $30. There is no annual registration fee for the racers. Parking is always free. Reminder that coolers are not permitted to be brought into the grandstands.
Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
