(Hartford, OH)…With the 2016 season just a little over two months from getting underway, Sharon Speedway is proud to announce that Lyden Oil Company featuring Red Line Synthetic Oil products has come on board to present the RUSH Sportsman Modified division. The Lyden Oil/Red Line RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will join the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks as the weekly “Steel Valley Thunder divisions for the 87th anniversary season.
The Lyden Oil/Red Line Sportsman Modifieds are under the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH banner for their third year in existence and will begin their second year as a full-time weekly division. The division averaged 12 cars per night during eight appearances in 2014 and the average count grew to 15 last year. Several new competitors have already made plans to join the division in 2016 as car counts are expected to grow again.

Sharon will host two Bicknell Tour events for the Lyden Oil/Red Line RUSH Sportsman Modifieds. The first will be on Saturday, August 6 for “Manufacturers Night and the second as part of the “Apple Festival Nationals on September 16-17. Sharon has hosted RUSH Manufacturers Nights for the Late Model division in the past, but this will be the first time for the Sportsman Modifieds.
“We’re excited about Lyden Oil joining us as the RUSH Sportsman Modified divisional sponsor, stated Sharon GM Dave Willoughby. “All of our other divisional sponsors returned and we’re honored for them to be our first to present the RUSH Sportsman Mods. We were happy with the growth of the division last year, and how the racing really improved. With the returning drivers having more experience and others set to enter the class, it should be an exciting season for the Lyden Oil/Red Line RUSH Sportsman Modifieds.
