Sharon suffers 3rd rain out of 2016 Saturday; Doubleheader next weekend with "Summer Jam & BBQ Series" Friday & FREE "Fan Appreciation Night" Saturday

(Hartford, OH)…After defying Mother Nature last Saturday night and getting the “Steel Valley Thunder� opener completed, Sharon Speedway wasn’t as lucky on Saturday night. Heavy morning rains coupled with showers forecasted throughout the afternoon and evening in addition to unseasonably cold temperatures forced Sharon to cancel racing action scheduled for Saturday night for the third time in the past four weeks.

Sharon will host the first “Summer Jam & BBQ Series� event this coming Friday (May 20) featuring “E5C4P3�- a “Journey� tribute band along with “Ronnie V & Friends�, who will open. Gates open at 6 p.m. with entertainment from 7-11 p.m. Admission is $7. Then on Saturday, action returns with “Steel Valley Thunder� for “Fan Appreciation Night� featuring FREE general admission plus autograph night in addition to a full night of racing in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Lyden/Red Line Oil RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks. The event is presented by Sims Buick. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m.

Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
