May 12, 2018 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Hartford, OH)…Saturday started off with sunshine and temps in the low 70s at Sharon Speedway. With a decreasing chance of rain, dry evening forecast, and storms staying north, management decided to go on with the show. Rain though formed south of the front mid-afternoon and took a direction path toward Sharon. With teams traveling from all over, management tried to wait out the showers, but after two hours of steady light rain and more rain forming in western Ohio the decision was made to cancel the Menards "Super Series" event featuring the inaugural appearance by the FAST "410" Sprint Car Series.
Coming up this Saturday night, May 19 is the annual “Fan Appreciation Night with FREE grandstand admission for everyone. There will also be an on-track autograph session during intermission with all the drivers and their cars. This will now be the opener for the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Big-Block Modifieds, the Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, and the HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds. The Summit Racing Equipment Econo Mods will return for the second race of their season. It's Mark Thomas Ford Night. Pits open at 4 p.m. with grandstands at 5 and racing at 7.
