(Hartford, OH)…Morning and early afternoon rain showers coupled with the forecast of rain later on have forced the cancellation of the June 9 racing program at Sharon Speedway. The event, which was to include the ULMS Super Late Models, Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Big-Block Modifieds, UEMS E-Mods, and Junior Sprints for kids, will not be rescheduled. The rainout marks the fourth in the past five weeks, the sixth in eight scheduled race events, and eighth overall in 10 nights if you count the two lost open practices to open the month of April.
Coming up next Saturday (June 16) will be the "Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals" featuring the Penn-Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series in a $10,000 to-win event presented by Blue Ox Timber along with the Junior Sprints for kids. Some 77 drivers are pre-entered. There will be a practice on Friday night for Stock Cars only. Note: there will be NO warm-ups on Saturday night. The event will begin with group qualifying.
Tony Stewart's Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will return on Tuesday, June 19 for Ohio Speedweek and will be joined by the HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds.
