(Hartford, OH)…In nearly a replay from the following Saturday, heavy rain hit Sharon Speedway on Saturday night prior to warm-ups after sunshine graced the track all day long. The rain was too much as it washed out the Menards "Super Series" event featuring the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply "410" Sprint Cars along with the RUSH Sprint Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, and Elite Econo Mod Series. It was the fourth time this season rain has washed out an event with race teams in the pit area.
Grandstand rain checks from Saturday night will be honored at all Menards "Super Series" $13 events for the remainder of the season. Pit passes can be used for the remainder of the season for all $30 events or upgraded for the difference on special events with higher pit pass prices. The 25 RUSH Sportsman Modified drivers and 21 Econo Mods in the two weekly divisions that were signed in will receive 10 show-up points per track procedures with the pill draw being closed. There were also 24 "410" Sprints and 16 RUSH Sprint Cars on hand; however, those divisions do not compete for Sharon Championship points.
Coming up next Saturday (June 8) will be the first "Bickerstaff Cup" race featuring the Outlaw E-Mods in a $1,200 to-win event that will utilize passing points. Also on the card for the Menards "Super Series" event will be the RUSH Sprint Cars, RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, and Stock Cars. Race time on A&MP Electric Night is at 7 p.m.
Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
