Western PA Sprint Speedweek Point Fund & Contingency Award Details Released

Shippenville, PA (Mar 8th, 2021) – The 2021 Schaeffer's Specialized Lubricants Western PA Sprint Speedweek presented by J.S. Bova Excavating is proud to announce that nearly $10,000 will be paid out through point fund and contingency awards this coming summer. When combined with feature purses, well over $70,000 in total will be awarded to teams and drivers during the five-night swing taking place from June 2nd-6th.

The top ten performing drivers that attend every night of the 2021 Western PA Sprint Speedweek will share $7,500 with $2,500 going to the champion. The full point fund breakdown is as follows, and is contingent on the miniseries completing at least three of the five events:

$2500 – 1st place
$1500 – 2nd place
$1000 – 3rd place
$ 750 – 4th place
$ 500 – 5th place
$ 250 – 6th thru 10th place

Additionally, the Knox Bakery Quick Time Award will pay a minimum $150 to the driver turning the fastest lap in qualifying to start the evening. This comes with an intriguing twist in that the full $750 amount will be awarded for the week, and the total allotment will be divided by the number of completed nights. In other words, for each night of racing that isn't completed (i.e. rained out), the quick time award for all other nights will increase. Breakdown:

5 races – $150 quick time award
4 races – $187 quick time award
3 races – $250 quick time award
2 races – $375 quick time award
1 races – $750 quick time award

The Rustler Sales and Service Hard Charger Award will pay a minimum $200 each night to the driver advancing the most positions during the feature event. The final awarded payout will be determined by the number of completed races, and calculated exactly the same as the quick time award above. Breakdown:

5 races – $200 hard charger award
4 races – $250 hard charger award
3 races – $333 hard charger award
2 races – $500 hard charger award
1 races – $1000 hard charger award

The North Country Brewing Hard Luck Award will also be in effect each night, with a case of their specialty craft beer going to the competitor finishing in the last position of all five feature events.

"We're really overwhelmed with all of the positive feedback that Western PA Sprint Speedweek has received from both drivers and fans alike," stated speedweek director Tyler Beichner. "Just as importantly, the unending support from all our marketing partners has allowed us to provide these prizes and payouts to the great drivers and teams of our area. Without each and every one of them, this would not be possible."

Returning this coming summer following a 20-year hiatus, Western Pennsylvania's '410 Sprint Cars' will compete for five straight nights around the Western PA racing circuit. Drivers will battle it out each evening for a robust feature purse, bookended by $3000-to-win and $250 to start, at Michael's Mercer Raceway (Wed, Jun 2nd), Thunder Mountain Speedway (Thu, Jun 3rd), Lernerville Speedway (Fri, Jun 4th), Sharon Speedway (Sat, Jun 5th) and Tri-City Raceway Park (Sun, Jun 6th). Each race will utilize the same group qualifying format that has been used and made popular at Sharon over the last few years.

Western PA Sprint Speedweek is brought to you by Schaeffer's Specialized Lubricants together with J.S.
