April 28, 2021

(Hartford, OH)…After a successful 2021 season opener despite the threatening weather last Saturday, Sharon Speedway looks forward to great weather in the forecast for this Saturday night (May 1) as the 92nd anniversary season rolls on with the first appearance of the season by the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars presented by Mobil 1 for the "Buckeye Cup".  The HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will round out the program on Lincoln Electric Night.  Warmups begin at 6:15 p.m. followed by qualifying and racing.

Fans can not only experience viewing from the frontstretch and backstretch grandstands, but also from the infield fan zone.  The fan zone, which includes a concessions and restrooms, debuted in 2020 during the COVID-19 shortened season.  Sharon is the only track in the area to have viewing from the unique infield perspective.  There will be times throughout the night when fans can cross on the frontstretch back and forth.

Saturday will mark the first of four appearances by the All Stars at Sharon in 2021 as Tony Stewart's Series will return on Tuesday, June 15 for Ohio Speedweek followed by the "Lou Blaney Memorial" on Saturday, July 10 and Justin Snyder's "Salute to the Troops" on Sunday, July 11.  All four events will pay $6,000 to-win, $550 to start.

The All Stars will bring a quality and diverse field of 12 full-time competitors to Sharon on Saturday including points leader Justin Peck along with Ian Madsen, Cory Eliason, Tyler Courtney, Brent Marks, Zeb Wise, Hunter Schuerenberg, Kyle Reinhardt, Bill Balog, Lucas Wolfe, Cap Henry, and T.J. Michael.  In addition, Paul McMahan and Greg Wilson will be in action to take on the regional stars of Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

The All Stars have had nine different winners in 10 events in 2021 as only World of Outlaws racer Donny Schatz has repeated.  Three-time Series champion, Aaron Reutzel, has a victory, but he's moved on to the WoO this year leaving the points chase wide open.  Others winners include Logan Schuchart, Carson Macedo, Peck, Tony Stewart, Kyle Larson, Logan Wagner, and Anthony Macri.

Saturday will be the first of 13 shows for the "410" Sprint Cars in 2021 at Sharon as in addition to the four All Star shows and one World of Outlaws event on May 22, there will be eight other non-sanctioned shows paying $3,000 to-win.  The retired Ed Lynch, Jr. leads the all-time Sharon "410" Sprint Car win list at 50, while Dave Blaney earned his 32nd career Sharon "410" win last year and sits second.  After a 10-year layoff, Bob Felmlee has returned to racing this year.  Felmlee was the 2007 track champion and has 14 career wins, two more than two-time champion, Jack Sodeman, Jr.

The HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will also be part of the show racing for $600 to-win.  Like the Sprints, Saturday will be the first appearance by the RUSH Mods at Sharon in 2021.  Due to COVID-19, the RUSH Mods only raced at Sharon three times in 2020 with Chas Wolbert winning two and Garrett Krummert the other.  This year will mark the eighth year of existence for the division, which has averaged over a full field of cars annually.  Past track champions include Kole Holden (2017 & 2019), Krummert (2018), Brandon Ritchey (2016), and Greg Martin (2015).

Hovis Auto & Truck Supply presents the Pace Performance RUSH Sportsman Modified Weekly Series Championship that pays the top 20 RUSH member drivers for their best 12 races across the region with a record $3,500 going to the champion.  Saturday's show kicks off year two of the "Route 7 Rumble" Series Championship presented by Wedge Motorsports.  That Series takes into account all races run between Sharon and Raceway 7 as the top eight drivers will share in the $2,500 point fund with $1,000 going to the champion. There is no Sharon registration fee.  One-way driver radios are mandatory; channel 454.000.  AMB/MyLaps transponders are required; rentals available for $25.  If you have yet to register for the 2021 season, please bring the registration form with you completed  http://www.sharonspeedway.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/RegistrationFormSharon2021.pdf
