Sharon's weekly divisions to receive a boost in payoffs for 2022; "410" Sprint Car purse to increase $2,400

March 11, 2022

(Hartford, OH)…Sharon Speedway management has made the decision to eliminate the track point funds in 2022 and instead increase the payoffs by $500 per night for each of the three "weekly" divisions; Pro Stocks, RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, and the Econo Mods.  Each position in all classes has increased over the 2021 payoffs.  In addition, the "410" Sprint Car payoff on the five non-sanctioned "Super Series" events (5/7, 5/14, 6/25, 7/30, 8/6) has been increased $2,400 with positions 2-20 seeing a boost.  Complete payoffs are available on the website under the Drivers tab.

"Obviously it's no secret the cost of racing has increased over the off-season in addition to ever rising fuel costs," stated General Manager Dave Willoughby.  "Rather than a point fund that will go to 30 total drivers during the winter, we felt it was better to increase the payoffs on a nightly basis to all competing racers.  While the $3,000 to-win and $250 to start amount was solid for the Sprints, we felt it was important to boost the payoff substantially throughout the rest of the purse to help those racers.  Drivers in the Sportsman Modifieds are encouraged to join RUSH and Pro Stock racers Penn-Ohio to take part in their Weekly Series Championship point funds."

A reminder that drivers/owners should send in their 2022 driver registration form at no charge through March 31.  This also helps save time on driver's initial appearance.  The form is available on the website under Drivers and Registration.

The 2022 racing season will get underway on Saturday, April 23 featuring the ULMS Super Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and RUSH Sportsman Modifieds.  Tickets are available for 2022 events at the following link https://sharonspeedway.simpletix.com/
